Aisha, a woman from Gaza, decides, with the support of her son, to open a cooking channel on Instagram. Her greatest dream is to open her own restaurant in Gaza — a place that would give her independence.

In September 2023, she begins her first live broadcast with six viewers and a traditional Gazan recipe. As the war breaks out and escalates, the number of viewers from around the world grows — but the cooking ingredients begin to run out.

She continues documenting her life and her cooking as she is displaced from one place to another — from her home to her parents’ house, and from their house to a tent. Each live broadcast reveals another stage: cooking with canned food, eating leaves and wild herbs, relying on aid dropped from the air, the absence of flour, and the dangers involved in obtaining it.

But Aisha keeps cooking.

The play was created based on the testimonies of many women from Gaza — videos, messages, personal accounts, and posts. Women who continued documenting their lives even when they no longer had anything to cook. Some of them are still struggling to survive.
